On Friday, June 27, the grand opening of the KAMAZ Visit Center took place in the presence of Sergey Chemezov, CEO of Rostec State Corporation, and Rustam Minnikhanov, President of Tatarstan.
The opening ceremony of the Visit Center was also attended by Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin, Director General of KAMAZ Sergey Kogogin, top managers of the company, Mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny Nail Magdeev, Head of the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan Taliya Minullina, and other executives.
The KAMAZ employees who participated in the creation of the Visit Center were encouraged by the Gratitude of Rostec State Corporation. The thank-you addresses of KAMAZ PTC were presented to the teams of Eurostyle LLC and Metaform LLC, who participated in the construction of the Center.
The visit center, the construction of which started in 2024, according to the creators, should become the "zero kilometer" of industrial tourism in the Zakamsky agglomeration and the point of attraction of Naberezhnye Chelny. By the way, KAMAZ is working in this area together with specialists from Rostec State Corporation, developing appropriate programs to attract visitors from Russia and foreign countries. Also among the tasks of the company's Visit Center are the presentation of the brand and products of KAMAZ PTC, reception of delegations, conducting excursions, educational events, cultural and leisure programs, etc.
"The visit Center is part of a large industrial tourism project implemented by Rostec State Corporation," Sergey Chemezov said in his speech at the opening ceremony. "Last year, more than 7 thousand people visited KAMAZ tours. Of these, more than 5,000 are in the framework of the career guidance program. I am sure that thanks to the establishment of the Visit Center, this figure will grow significantly."
Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, praised the exposition and the informative content of the Visit Center. According to him, this is a vivid illustration of the fact that a powerful scientific, technical, production base, advanced technologies, and most importantly, the energy, excitement, and perseverance of KAMAZ employees in achieving their goals will always be a guarantee of moving forward and the key to KAMAZ's success.
"The Visit Center was born within the framework of the ProKAMAZ project in order to bring industrial tourism and the prestige of the working and engineering professions to a new level," said Sergey Kogogin. "I am sure it will become not only our best business card, giving an idea of the company's technologies and products, but also a modern digital space for education, career guidance and meetings of young people, partners and guests of the auto giant and Avtograd – from schoolchildren to veterans."
"This is a place that both the plant and the city have long deserved. Moreover, we have two bright dates ahead of us – the 400th anniversary of Naberezhnye Chelny and the 50th anniversary of the release of the first KAMAZ. I would also like to note that a significant moment today was the transfer of a time capsule addressed to KAMAZ workers, who will open our message in 2069, for storage in the Visit Center. Its content shows that our current aspirations are directed towards the ambitious future of KAMAZ, Naberezhnye Chelny, Tatarstan and Russia," Erik Khairullin, Director of the KAMAZ Visit Center, said during the presentation of the new space.
The area of the Visit center, located on Avtozavodsky Prospekt, is 1.5 thousand square meters. On the ground floor, guests are greeted by trucks that have gone down in the history of the company. Among them are the first KAMAZ-5320, which rolled off the assembly line on February 16, 1976, and the millionth KAMAZ truck. Installations and interactive videos of an overview nature create a special atmosphere. They will tell about the history of the company, its role in the country's economy, the development of the enterprise and the wide product line of the automobile plant. There is also a KAMAZ sports truck simulator cabin, in which every visitor can feel like a crew member of the famous KAMAZ-master team. Also on the ground floor there is a spacious hall with a large screen that can accommodate 50 people. This lecture hall will host meetings for guests of all ages and interests, from schoolchildren to auto giant veterans. In addition, corporate events, presentations, and educational quests will be held here. An even richer exposition awaits visitors on the second floor. All exhibits are accompanied by interactive content and videos. Among the most interesting are an explosion view mock–up of a truck engine, the office of a modern automotive design engineer, and a huge layout of a complex of factories in Naberezhnye Chelny.
An interactive approach to the content of the Visit Center will allow the visitor to move clearly according to their interests, plunge into the events and biographies of those people who created KAMAZ technologies from the first days of KAMAZ's operation. The chronicle will include not only the first persons, but also all those who had a significant impact on the development of KAMAZ, specialists from engineering to working specialties.
