A new model of the heavy family of trucks of the K5 generation, the KAMAZ–65956 tractor truck, has rolled off the main assembly line of the auto giant. It is currently being tested on the test benches of the automobile plant.
"The assembly of this model took place in the rhythm of the assembly line and did not cause any great difficulties," said Artyom Osipov, Deputy Head of the Truck Assembly Efficiency Analysis Department and head of the bureau. – This vehicle is similar to another tractor truck, the all–wheel drive KAMAZ-65955, which has been assembled at the automobile plant for more than a year. It has the same engine, electrical equipment, exhaust system, pneumatic and fuel systems, spring suspension of the cabin. The high degree of unification with the all-wheel drive KAMAZ-65955 in key systems ensures lower costs for production, maintenance and preparation of serial production of the truck in 2026. At the same time, the novelty has an original design of the rear wings, which is mounted on a special bracket, the saddle device is higher than its counterparts, and the base itself, designed to install the platform (trawl), is much longer."
With its high load capacity, the tractor truck can operate as part of a road train to transport heavy large-sized machinery on a trawl, as well as deliver bulk soils on a dump truck semi-trailer. The total weight of a road train can reach 91.5 tonnes, if a body is placed in the saddle device, 80 tonnes of sand or gravel will fit into it. The machine will be a good helper at industrial facilities, construction sites, and quarries.
The new model is equipped with a 560-horsepower R6 engine, a 16-speed manual transmission, rear drive axles, and a 6x4 wheel formula. A spacious 600-liter fuel tank allows you to travel long distances without additional refueling. It is planned to launch the new model of the K5 line in mass production in 2026.
The KAMAZ-65956 truck will become a new word in the development of the line of heavy KAMAZ tractors. It was developed for use in Russia and for export to Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan. KAMAZ creates world-class equipment that can compete on equal terms globally.
In general, the type of trucks and chassis of the new generation K5 has been formed today. The leader of the Russian truck engineering industry presents a full line of modern high-tech vehicles. The model range of KAMAZ K5 vehicles and chassis includes five families: mainline, transport, heavy, all-wheel drive and medium-tonnage. Each line consists of several models. At the same time, several configurations have been developed for each model, depending on the customers' requirements and the conditions of use, which confirms the high technological maturity of the K5 generation platform. Further appearance of new models and modifications is planned when appropriate requests from customers become available. Specialized Russian companies have a reliable partner who ensures timely delivery of innovative equipment to meet their needs and affordable service.
